The Siren 5s competition is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Best Individual Event of the Season.
The tournament, organised by employees of Siren Craft Brew, took place at Farley Hill Primary School on Saturday, and raised over £1,000 for the Royal British Legion local food bank and the Arborfield Aces youth football team benevolent fund.
One nomination for the award said: “A brilliantly put together community event that brought together various people and workplaces to raise money for the local football club.”
Another added: “Because Louis [organiser Louis Coulbeck] put together an amazing event raising money for charity. I spoke to a player after who doesn’t play football, in fact doesn’t play sport, but he played the tournament and got really into it. He suffers from bad depression but was buzzing, it was really amazing to see.”
A third simply said: “It was a great family atmosphere with teams from all over coming and having a great time. Hosted by Siren Craft Brew.”
