Three Reading FC youngsters are currently getting game time at Berkshire non-league sides. Jacob Borgnis, Basil Tuma and Carter Bowdrey are all out on loan from Reading FC Academy.
Jacob Borgnis made the loan move to Slough Town in November 2025 and is a regular in Scott Davies’ line up for the Rebels. The 21 year-old, born in New Zealand, is proving his worth in midfield and whilst he’s yet to find the net, he’s not afraid to take a strike and has been key in the build-up to a number of goals for the Thames Valley side. Borgnis is expected to feature until at least Saturday the 10th of January.
Basil Tuma also links up with Slough Town having joined the Rebels in December 2025, the Maltese international has represented the central Mediterranean side at U19, U21 and senior level having made his debut in October 2024 with none other than the match-winning penalty in his first appearance. A pacey winger, he’s been electric for Slough down both wings. Tuma is also expected to feature until at least Sunday the 10th of January.
Carter Bowdrey, the final of the three players at Berkshire sides, is currently on loan Hungerford Town having signed for them in late December. The tide looks to be turning for the Southern League Premier Division South side as an uptick in results has seen two wins and two draws for Danny Robinson’s men. The midfielder hasn’t been shy at a shot on goal having fired a strike just wide of the post only 9 minutes after making his debut for the Crusaders. Bowdrey is expected to remain at Hungerford until at least the 17th of January.
