Maidenhead United v Swindon

Opening day defeat for Berkshire’s FAWNL sides

Ascot United and Maidenhead United both fell to defeat on the opening day of the 2025/26 FA Women’s National League.

The Yellas made club history playing their first ever game at Tier 4 as they headed to Bristol Rovers falling to a narrow 1-0 defeat after a second half strike from Maisy Collis sent them back to Berkshire with no points

Maidenhead also found themselves at the end of a loss after travelling to Swindon Town with Macey-Nikiah Walters opening her account for the Magpies to spoil the clean sheet for the hosts having scored four themselves.

Up next, Maidenhead host Actonians at home on Wednesday night and Ascot welcome Moneyfields to the Racecourse on Tuesday, both in FAWNL Cup fixtures as they both search for a first win of the 2025/26 season.
