Legendary football journeyman Jefferson Louis is finally hanging up his boots at the age of 46 and best mate Scott Davies has revealed where he’s heading next.
The Slough Town boss has snapped up the former Wrexham and Bristol Rovers striker as part-of a new look backroom team at Arbour Park.
Harrow-born Louis began his career in Buckinghamshire with Risborough Rangers and soon caught the eye of Football League side Oxford United where he made his professional debut in 2002 famously scoring the following season in the televised FA Cup tie against Swindon Town.
After loan spells with Woking and Gravesend & Northfleet in 2003 and 2004, Louis began his now legendary journeyman era that saw him switch clubs 51 times, playing as far away as Darlington and Gainsborough – representing Dominica in a 2010 World Cup Qualifier – but also turning up locally for Maidenhead United and Slough Town.
And it is the Rebels where he will take his first steps into a focused coaching role after former Reading and Republic of Ireland youth international Davies persuaded his best mate to return to East Berkshire.

Speaking exclusively to Football in Berkshire as part of a new podcast series to that will launch in June to promote the Plaion Launchpad Berkshire 5s, Davies said: “Jefferson is my best mate, we met at Wealdstone, he was an usher at my wedding and lives down the road.
“I said you can retire and there’s a coaching spot here for you, or you can carry on playing!”
Louis made five appearances for Slough between December 2022 and September 2023. He takes up the role of Assistant First Team Coach for the Vanarama National League side.
In a statement released by the Rebels club website, Louis’ role was defined: “Jefferson will primarily focus on working with the club’s strikers, offering specialist coaching and guidance, while also taking on a valuable mentoring role for the younger players within the squad.
“Having first joined the Rebels in June 2023 as a Performance Coach, Jefferson played a key part in delivering high-intensity physical training sessions, managing warm-ups and activation routines, and advising on post-match recovery and nutrition.”
