Former Binfield and Woodley United goalkeeper Killian Barrett has earned an international call-up with Republic of Ireland for matches at the start of June.
The goalkeeper – on loan at Rochdale this season in the Vanarama National League from Sheffield Wednesday – was part of Binfield’s famous ‘Great Escape’ in 2023/24 when the Moles went from being cast adrift in the Isthamian League to safety on the final day.
Barrett in particular was influential on the final day, saving a vital one v one opportunity for Uxbridge with the game at 0-0, before Ethan Lindo was able to give the Moles a valuable win at the other end.
The goalkeeper was picked up by EFL League One Wednesday last summer and helped Rochdale to the play-offs where they were eventually beaten in the Eliminator Round by Southend United.
