Nominations for the feel-good football night of the year are flooding in

Boost their chances:

Football in Berkshire is proud to announce TradeMark Windows as title partner for the 2025 Berkshire Football Awards.

The Woodley-based business has a long history of supporting grassroots sport in Berkshire, particularly across football, having been shirt sponsors at Maidenhead United and Wokingham & Emmbrook over the decades.

On confirming news of the partnership, Mark Ashwell, Managing Director TradeMark Windows & Conservatories said succinctly: “Our non-league football community is everything to me. Football in Berkshire is home.”

Football in Berkshire’s editor Tom Canning described the partnership as “a positive reinforcement of this event we put on every year.”

2025 will be the fourth at Double-Barrelled Brewery in Reading, with the decision to increase the size and scope of the annual awards paying off.

“Post-Covid, with the support of the local football community, we decided to ‘go big’ on the event and move it to a larger venue at Double-Barrelled Brewery in Reading. The brewery is a favourite venue of mine and their support has been invaluable,” Mr Canning said.

“Since we moved venue we’ve sold it out every year and we’ve increased the number of individual award sponsors culminating last year in having a sponsor for each one. Now with TradeMark taking on the title partnership, we are able to put on an even better event including an improved live stream.”

Naturally a partnership like this means additional funds for the event, with the live stream in particular getting bigger courtesy of FC Video – the team behind live coverage of Maidenhead United and Slough Town fixtures among others.

Canning said: “The money we raise from events like this ensure the sites continuation but also means we are able to work on other initiatives like ‘Hitting The Road’ – which after visiting Reading YMCA in March, we want to do several times a season, as well as doing what we can to support clubs in other ways.

“As well as TradeMark, we are very grateful to our individual award sponsors: Rural Pie Co, Lens Digital, Fox Beerhouse (Caversham), STAR – Supporters Trust at Reading, Procision Football Academy, Serious Sport, Cap ‘N’ Chino, Calibra Tree Surgeons, Massage Movements and the Non League Heroes Podcast.

“It really is the feel-good football night of the year in my humble opinion and this means we’ll be able to share it with even more people.”

Scroll down to the bottom of this article for the nomination form. Before you do that though, here’s what the judging panel are looking for when choosing the shortlist.

What’s the story? Tell us exactly why the person or place should be considered. We hate to get all ‘X Factor journey’ on you but the more detail you can include, the better we can argue for your nominee for the short list.

The sort of details we love to see include things like player awards, goals, clean sheets and any other significant contributions to the footballing community – obviously within the 2024/25 season.

We’ll publish all the nominees for the Berkshire Football Awards as we receive them.

You can view all the 2025 nominees so far here.

Want to know who’s previously won what at the Berkshire Football Awards? There’s a big long page with all the previous winners here.

Nominations will be open until midday on Monday 26th May 2025.

The Long List will be published on Wednesday 28th May and the Short List on Friday 30th May.

Once the nomination window has closed, the nominations in each category will be put before a panel of judges for a decision, the top four announced online and the winners at the awards night on Wednesday 18th June.

We will accept nominations for people out of area, the only prerequisite is that the reason for nomination is that it must be because of an affiliation with a club we cover on Football in Berkshire (a full list is at the bottom of this page). We will present certificates and a trophy to the winners.

  • All nominations are done by you, the Berkshire footballing public
  • You can nominate as many people as you like for each award – the quantity of nominations counts for the judging panel..
  • That said, quality is just as important, the more detail you provide about why you are nominating, the better
  • Please try and avoid nominating your own family members
  • Due to difficulties in obtaining permissions under child protection laws we won’t consider any player under the age of 16 for nomination in any of the categories
