Boost their chances:

Adam Barnard is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Manager of the Season (Men’s Game) sponsored by Massage Movements.

It’s been a tough second season back at Step 5 for the Fizzers and the team fighting to secure status and take on a third year.

The nomination we received for the award said: “Taking on a team that continually changes week on week, as soon as new players come on board and are really good they are developed and moved on to clubs that are paid. None of the players get paid so Adam has to keep up morale to keep players at Sandhurst.

“He has to be resilient and not show his frustration when Bracknell who share the same club do get paid . He networks really well with all staff and players at the club He has had a tough year himself with an operation that has not made it easy since November but still turns up week after week even though he is in pain.

“Even though the team has not done well in the league Adam and the other coaches and team have tried their utmost under the leadership of Adam.”

Agree that Adam Barnard should be up for the Manager of the Season (Men’s Game) award? Or do you have someone else in mind? Let us know in the nomination form below:

NOMINATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED!

Yes! The awards are taking place at the marvellous Double-Barrelled Brewery in Reading and we’ll have food available. Tickets will be limited but on sale from 28th May. If you’d like to know when, so you don’t miss out, make sure you’ve signed up to our email newsletter here.

Scroll down to the bottom of this article for the nomination form. Before you do that though, here’s what the judging panel are looking for when choosing the shortlist.

What’s the story? Tell us exactly why the person or place should be considered. We hate to get all ‘X Factor journey’ on you but the more detail you can include, the better we can argue for your nominee for the short list.

The sort of details we love to see include things like player awards, goals, clean sheets and any other significant contributions to the footballing community – obviously within the 2024/25 season.

We’ll publish all the nominees for the Berkshire Football Awards as we receive them.

You can view all the 2025 nominees so far here.

Want to know who’s previously won what at the Berkshire Football Awards? There’s a big long page with all the previous winners here.

Nominations will be open until midday on Monday 26th May 2025.

The Long List will be published on Wednesday 28th May and the Short List on Friday 30th May.

Once the nomination window has closed, the nominations in each category will be put before a panel of judges for a decision, the top four announced online and the winners at the awards night on Wednesday 18th June.

We will accept nominations for people out of area, the only prerequisite is that the reason for nomination is that it must be because of an affiliation with a club we cover on Football in Berkshire (a full list is at the bottom of this page). We will present certificates and a trophy to the winners.

  • All nominations are done by you, the Berkshire footballing public
  • You can nominate as many people as you like for each award – the quantity of nominations counts for the judging panel..
  • That said, quality is just as important, the more detail you provide about why you are nominating, the better
  • Please try and avoid nominating your own family members
  • Due to difficulties in obtaining permissions under child protection laws we won’t consider any player under the age of 16 for nomination in any of the categories
