Ascot United have confirmed Sarah Jones, formerly Leonard, is to hang up her football boots after 30 years of playing.

Affectionately known as Lenny to many who have played alongside her over the years, she joined Ascot United in August of 2021 having played two seasons at fellow Berkshire side, Wokingham & Emmbrook.

Her career also took her to Reading FC Women, as well as a stint in the US. Whilst her time with the Yellas was somewhat marred by injuries, she still managed to net an impressive 42 goals in 50 games for both the Firsts and more recently the Reserves.

Jones was also shortlisted for Player of the Season (Female) at the 2022 Berkshire Football Awards.
