Binfield defender Jack Matton is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Young Player of the Season (Male).

Matton played 10 times for the Moles as they completed the ‘Great Escape’ in the Isthmian League South Central Division One on the final day of the season, contributing two goals.

The nomination we received for the award said: “Jack has joined us from Woking and has been instrumental in developing a solid defence to replace the previous one that let so many goals in. In addition to his massive influence at the back, Jack has also added a threat at the other end scoring important goals. Jack has been selected and captained England at u18 schoolboy level in the last few weeks and has also now earned a professional contract for next season with Wycombe Wanderers.”
