Wraysbury celebrate first league title in 20 years

Village side disbanded their first team last season

A year after folding their first team, Wraysbury Village are celebrating after winning the Thames Valley Premier League Division Three title.

20 years on from the club’s last league title – the Middlesex County Football League Premier Division – Wraysbury are celebrating again after completing their fixtures this season 10 points clear of Taplow United Reserves (who have one game left to play).

Wraysbury’s last game was a 2-2 draw with Harchester Hawks and the side have won Division 3 with just one player in the squad who represented the defunct First Team last season in Douglas Crosbourne.

The Villagers had finished second bottom of the Premier Division at the end of the 2022/23 season, above Reading City u23s, and were due to be placed in Division One.

Wraysbury can now look forward to a Division 2 campaign next season.
