Westwood Wanderer’s player/manager Devonn Reid is up for a Berkshire Football Award in the category of Manager of the Season.
Reid – a former Reading City and Marlow defender – has used his contacts book wisely and built a Wanderer’s side that – at the time of writing – sits top of the Thames Valley Premier League.
The nomination received for this award – won last year by Ascot United’s Jamie Tompkins – said: “This young lad has took over Westwood Wanderers FC this year. He was a player with no intentions on becoming a manager but has done it to stop the team from folding. He is manager, physio, coach all wrapped up in one and he has transformed the team from struggling mid table to currently sitting top of TVPL Premier Division and look like winning it in his first season. He puts so much time and effort into this team a lot of it time he does have with having a young family himself and I just feel he deserves this and some recognition!”
For 2024, we have split the Manager of the Season award in to two separate categories covering the men’s game and women’s game.
Agree that Devonn Reid should be up for the Manager of the Season (Men’s Game) award? Or do you have someone else in mind? Let us know in the nomination form below:
