Slough Town and Hungerford Town are a step closer to the ultimate away-day after progressing to the FA Trophy Third Round.

Fresh from starring in the FA Cup, Slough beat Farnborough 2-1 at Arbour Park with Nathan Minhas firing the opener past former Rebel Jack Turner just before half-time.

Another former Rebel Aaron Kuhl levelled in the second half but it was Johnny Goddard – proving it’s not just Scott Davies who can fire in a free-kick or two – who got the winner.

The game marked a welcome return to action for Gary Abisogun who finally made his debut following injury, and new Rebels goalkeeper Dan Lincoln who was brought in during the week.

It took until the 64th minute at Bulpit Lane but Joe Shepherd provided the opener for Hungerford Town and Niiokai Evans wrapped things up as the Crusaders beat National League South Truro City 2-0 to advance.

Bracknell Town however are out, beaten 3-0 at Bottom Meadow by Horsham.

The FA Trophy Third Round is due to take place on the weekend of Saturday 9th December 2023.
