Reading FC vs Reading City in the FA Youth Cup – it couldn’t happen, could it?

The Cityzens and the Royals could clash in the Second Round

Reading City denied FA Youth Cup fans a Devon derby last week, but will Devon deny Berkshire and all-Reading Second Round tie?

Combined Counties League Reading City and EFL League One Reading FC’s youth teams are the remaining Berkshire sides in the 2023/24 FA Youth Cup and will undoubtedly be eyeing a box office clash should both sides get through their First Round ties.

City host Exeter City at The Rivermoor on Thursday 2nd November (7pm) hoping to match a previous best run in the competition.

Town neighbours Reading FC are also in the First Round this time following the Senior Men’s teams relegation to League One in the summer. They will make the short journey to Oxford City on Tuesday 31st October.

By the time the FA Youth Cup Second Round draw is made, there will be just 20 teams in the hat. We all want Reading City vs Reading FC at The Rivermoor don’t we!
