Sandhurst Town have sealed the Combined Counties League Division One title with two games to spare after completing a marathon of football matches to complete the season.
At one point the Fizzers had 15 games to play in a month, and as further postponements piled on that became a game every other day and a run of every day between the 17th and 20th April with Sandhurst taking a maximum 12 points.
The title was sealed in the 80th minute at Brook House on Thursday night with Logan Coles dispatching a penalty and means Sandhurst are four points clear of nearest rivals Berks County who themselves have just one game to play.
County and London Samurai Rovers are both certainties for the play-offs with Rayners Lane likely to join them. Three other sides can still make it with Langley, FC Deportivo Galicia and Bedfont all in with a shout while British Airways goal difference means its unlikely they’ll make it even if they beat Hillingdon Borough by a big margin.
For Sandhurst, the title means promotion and a return to Step 5 for the first time since the 2012/13 season when they were relegated after a decade in the Premier Division.
