Woodley United Ladies have added another trophy to their cabinet after sealing the Southern Region Women’s Football League Division One North title on Sunday.
A season after suffering relegation from the Premier Division, the Kestrels have regrouped and doubled down, with a 2-0 win at title challengers Milton United enough to seal the division win with a game to go.
Milton had beaten Woodley 4-3 earlier in the season and were the only realistic challengers to a Woodley side that has only conceded seven goals while netting 43.
Sarah Lawrence and Bonnie Messitt scored the goals on either side of half-time to give Woodley the win, and there were certainly jubilant scenes at full-time.

Woodley now have a ‘lap of honour’ in their final game of the league season when they visit Kidlington Youth on the 5th March but until then it’s a Chairman’s Cup run the Kestrels will fancy with a first-round tie at home to Abbey Rangers on 19th February.
