Tuesday night sees no less than seven Berkshire-based sides compete in their respective leagues as Binfield test their title credentials at home to Basingstoke Town.

Hungerford Town sit at the foot of the Vanarama National League South and will be looking to build on their 1-1 draw with Chippenham Town – and recent good form – at the weekend.

Chelmsford City are the visitors to West Berkshire and currently sit inside the play-off places. The Crusaders will be eager to take advantage of their visitor’s poor form, Chelmsford have won only once in the last five.

A rearranged Step 4 fixture sees league leaders Basingstoke Town travel to Binfield in the Isthmian South Central League. The Moles, who sit sixth in the table just outside the play-off places will be looking to take advantage of one of three games in hand.

Their visitors however are in a rich vein of form and will look to secure all three points to further boost their promotion hopes.

Last week, Moles boss Garry Haylock said on the club website when asked about play-off dates: “Haylock said “It’s great that the playoff dates have come out, giving clubs the opportunity to plan.

“However, I am of the opinion that we are capable of winning the league and that’s where our focus will be.”

Combined Counties League

The Combined Counties League Premier Division North is where Berkshire football really comes into it’s own. Six of our sides will compete in four fixtures across the county and beyond on Tuesday night with two all-Berkshire ties.

Wallingford & Crowmarsh host fellow strugglers Wokingham & Embrook, while table-topping, FA Vase last 16 side Ascot United look to extend their lead at the top as they welcome neighbours Virginia Water to the Racecourse Ground.

Elsewhere in the division, Holyport will be looking for their second win of the week as they host Chalfont St Peter while Windsor travel to struggling North Greenford United.

In Division One, promotion hopefuls Sandhurst Town welcome relegation battlers Bagshot to Bottom Meadow to continue their push for promotion.

County Cup Withdrawal

The Berks & Bucks County FA Senior Cup had thrown up an exciting tie as Isthmian South Central Marlow took on historic rivals Maidenhead United for a place in the quarter finals away at Hungerford Town, unfortunately, Maidenhead have now withdrawn from the competition so Marlow will advance.
