The eagerly awaited Hampshire Senior Cup Third Round tie between Tadley Calleva and AFC Bournemouth has been postponed.
A pitch inspection at 12:45 deemed the pitch at Barlows Park unplayable despite the efforts of volunteers.
A statement from Tadley said: “Despite the best efforts of our volunteers this morning the match official has deemed the playing surface unsafe and unplayable. All tickets will be valid for the rearranged date. We will confirm this asap.”
The match was ‘all ticket’ with over 500 sold for the match against the Premier League side. The attendance would have been a record for the club which was only formed in 1989.
The club have advised that all tickets purchased will be valid for the rearranged fixture but refunds are available by contacting the club.
