With over 500 tickets sold to Tuesday night’s Hampshire Senior Cup tie between Tadley Calleva and AFC Bournemouth, it’s fair to say there will be a few nerves around ahead of a planned pitch inspection.
The Third Round match is expected to break the attendance record at Barlows Park on Tuesday night with the visit of the Premier League side to Combined Counties League Premier Division South surroundings.
UPDATE: Latest on Tadley Calleva vs AFC Bournemouth pitch inspection here
The beauty of the County Cups these days is the potential for regular visits of professional sides to non-league and grassroots teams, and the knowledge that it’ll likely be a ‘B’ team or Academy side that takes the field not seeming to put off supporters – just ask the Berks & Bucks County sides that faced Wycombe Wanderers last season.
Tadley’s Barlows Park ground sits just inside the Berkshire border with their previous best attendance standing at 297 for an FA Cup First Qualifying Round tie against Truro City in 2020.
A pitch inspection at the ground is taking place at 12:45pm.
Tickets are still available for the game and you can buy yours directly from the Football in Berkshire ticket store.
Tadley – easily accessible from Reading along the A4 – have beaten a spirited East Cowes Victoria Athletic 4-2 in the First Round and then Bournemouth FC 2-0 in the Second to setup the tie with the Cherries in January.
