Another Bracknell youngster is making waves in the women’s game with the news Evie Gane has signed professional forms with Coventry United.
She follows hot on the heels of Chelsea Women’s Aimee Claypole who made her first team debut in the Women’s FA Cup last season and won the Girls FA Youth Cup, scoring twice in the final.
22-year-old defender Gane’s contract with FA Women’s Championship side Coventry United is her first professional contract. Writing on Twitter she said: “Excited to sign for Coventry United Women and to be back in the Championship…looking forwards to the season ahead.”
The defender had been playing at Whitegrove in Bracknell since she was four-years-old. She graduated through the Regional Talent Centre at Reading FC and has played for Oxford United, Aston Villa, London Bees and Portsmouth.
A student at Ranelagh School growing up she has earned International honours with Wales at under 17 and under 19 levels and if that wasn’t enough, completed a degree in Sport Management and Law in the summer.
Gane could be in line to face her former club Reading this season as Coventry have been drawn in Group E of the Continental Cup alongside the Royals, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.
