Fresh from signing a new two-year contract with FA Women’s Super League side Reading FC Women, Lily Woodham has been announced as the first ambassador for the club’s Proud Royals group.

Launched in February 2022, Proud Royals is a Supporters Group focussed on the club’s LGBTQ+ fans and aimed at improving the matchday experience for all supporters.

Welsh international Woodham is the groups first ambassador, and said of her role – the news of which came shortly after signing her new contract: “I’m really grateful for the opportunity the Proud Royals have given me, it’s something I’m passionate about in terms of raising awareness and helping anyone who struggles!”

Lily’s role will include being present at Proud Royals events in the future and using her platform to champion the group and cause.

As well as Woodham, another familiar face in the group is Reading City’s media man Ryan Sheehan, who acts as Head of Social Media & Content.
