The Berks & Bucks County FA have relaunched their monthly social media crusade to find the areas #BBFAStars.
In a press release, the County FA said: “#BBFAStars is a volunteer engagement initiative that aims to recognise and reward the volunteers across the county that the grassroots game in Berks & Bucks depend upon. It uses their inspirational examples and personal stories to raise awareness of the game and encourage new faces to get involved.”
As well as being a way for the County FA to say thank you, the nominations allow clubs and those involved with them to recognise the work of their fellow volunteers.
The release continues: “The roles we celebrate in #BBFAStars are not always in the spotlight, but the people that take them on often do so through a pure love of the game. #BBFAStars is not only about recognising their individual efforts but also about showing you a side of the game that you don’t often see.
“We’re relaunching #BBFAStars with the Secretary Award. The Secretary is one of the most important roles in a club or league. The main point of contact for the county, team managers and clubs/leagues, the Secretary will look after the administrative duties for the club/league and whilst it can be very demanding, it can also be an incredibly rewarding and satisfying role.
“Other roles to be recognised throughout the year include, Chairperson, Welfare Officer, Fixtures Secretary, Player Registrations Officer and more!”
