Ascot United youngster Clodagh Farrell has been nominated for a Berkshire Football Award in the Since71 Young Player of the Season (Female) category.
The striker has played 19 times this season as Ascot United Ladies Reserves finished the season with a 100% record in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League Division Three East and lifted the title with a maximum 54 points.
The nomination received said: “Clodagh has made a huge impact at Ascot having been at the club for just two years, she is a vital part of the squad having made the step up from Berks County U16 in the 2020/21 season. She’s cool, calm and collected when on the ball but has some serious firepower in her strike and has also been key to assisting her striking partner Freya Johnson as they played cat and mouse for top goalscorer this year. She has won the ‘golden boot’ in both seasons scoring 27 goals (38 in total) this year alone.”
