Maidenhead United Women full-back Nicole Barrett has been nominated for the Player of the Season (Female) category at the 2022 Eddie Stobart Berkshire Football Awards.
Barrett has played 20 times for the FA Women’s National League Division One South West side and scored 10 goals in a division that features clubs like AFC Bournemouth, Swindon Town and Exeter City.
The nomination we received for the award said: “Nicole has been top scorer for MUWFC this season despite operating primarily at right-back. Ever present in the side this season, Nicole’s consistently outstanding displays and footballing brain have lifted her teammates who look likely to record a highest-ever FAWNL finish. When she is not excelling on the football pitch she is to be found on the sidelines passing on her knowledge coaching local youngsters with her hugely successful Woodley-based start-up coaching business, ABC Kick.”
The defender joined Maidenhead in 2020 after returning from the US where she played for Seattle based OSA FC and also had spells as a youngster with Reading, Oxford United and Chelsea.
