Football in Berkshire has proudly reported on the growing career and profile of Aimee Claypole since she first hit the headline at Reading FC Women.
The youngster has spent the last few season’s with Chelsea Women, working her way through the Youth Team set up at the FA WSL side, she has represented both Finland and England Lionesses at youth level, but so far a spot in the first-team squad has eluded her.
Until now.
16-year-old Claypole has been named in the Chelsea squad for the Vitality FA Women’s Cup Fourth Round tie with Aston Villa at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium on Saturday (1 pm) and could become one of the club’s youngest ever debutants.
In October, the young attacker made her England under 17 debut in the Euro qualifiers with Russia, Belgium and Poland and played for Finland as a 13-year-old in 2019.
