Rhiannon Stewart is Reading FC Women’s nineteen-year-old number two between the sticks at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Stewart spent some of her youth career at Millwall Lionesses. She had a brief stint at London City Lionesses between January and June of 2019, making a total of six appearances for the Championship side before joining Reading in June of the same year.
Stewart made her debut for the Royals in a baptism of fire against one of the world’s best forward line’s. Royals played host to Arsenal in September 2021, and when Grace Moloney was injured in the warm-up, Stewart was called upon to face Vivianne Miedema and co. The game ultimately ended in a 4-0 defeat for Reading, but it would have been a vital experience for the young keeper.
Speaking via the Reading FC website following her debut, Stewart said: “It was so enjoyable though, playing against players who I have watched for years, although it was a lot more daunting seeing them run towards me!”
Stewart has also featured internationally as she has represented England U19’s since September 2020.
