Vanarama National League South Slough Town will head north to York City after the Buildbase FA Trophy Fourth Round draw paired the sides together.
The Rebels beat fellow National League South side Eastbourne Borough 3-1 on Saturday sparking some less than sporting comments from Borough manager Danny Bloor who’d apparently failed to scout Slough’s long-throw specialist Guy Hollis.
For Slough managers Neil Baker and Jon Underwood, the only thing that will matter is being in the Fourth Round which they achieved thanks to goals from the sensational Alfonso Tenconi and a Max Worsfold double, the first a free-kick and latter a six-yard finish that resulted from the aforementioned Hollis throw.
The match, due to be played on Saturday 15th January 2022, will mark the furthest Slough have gone in the FA Trophy since they reached the Fifth Round in 04/05 when they lost 3-2 away to Gravesend & Northfleet. The clubs best performance ever in the Trophy is two semi-final appearances in 97/98 and 76/77.
