With four Berkshire sides in action, we were guaranteed to see at least one through to the semi-final of this season’s Berks & Bucks Women’s Trophy and that we did with three through the next round.
Aylesbury United Ladies v Caversham United Women
Caversham United are making it a habit of doing well in cup competitions in their inaugural season as The Goats and their quarter-final match up against Aylesbury United Ladies was secured with conviction. Captain Emma Hopkins put them 1-0 inside three minutes and the goals kept on coming with six more including a hat-trick for Holly Swan.
Slough Town FC Ladies v Mortimer Ladies
Slough were ahead with a convincing two nil lead before Mortimer’s top goalscorer, for the season so far, Beth Millican slotted home two goals to equalise. However, the Rebels were able to take all three points as they scored once more to make it three. Slough having themselves a sensational season as they sit third in their first season as a Division Two sides and competing well in two county cup competitions.
Wargrave Women & Girls v Bletchley Shamrock Rovers
Another victory for Wargrave as they capture a fourth win in all competitions in four weeks with a goal in each half for Sian Blissett and one for Isobel Devine-Mcgovern to confirm Wargrave’s place into the next round.
The tie to establish the fourth semi-finalist will be played on the 9th of January between Penn & Tyler Green Ladies and Long Crendon Ladies
