A Bracknell youngster who started out with Whitegrove, moving through the system with Reading FC and now regularly turning on the style for Chelsea is in the England squad for a UEFA under 17 qualifiers triple-header with Russia, Belgium and Poland this week.
Aimee Claypole joined up with the young Lionesses squad on Wednesday and is part of the squad that will face Russia on Monday 4th, Belgium on Thursday 7th and Poland on Sunday 10th October.
Claypole is part of Lydia Bedford’s 20-player squad that includes youngsters from Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United as well as Reading goalkeeper Hannah Poulter.

The trip is not Aimee’s first taste of international football, she has been part of England training camps already and played for Finland – who she qualifies for through her mother – as a 13-year-old in 2019, scoring four times as her side beat Malaysia 15-0.
