Up for the Cup: Vitality FA Cup, Continental Cup and all the other competitions in Berkshire

The opening weekend of October proved fruitful for Ascot and Caversham United as they registered victories to put them through to the Third Round Qualifying of the Vitality FA Cup, but they’re not the only Berkshire sides in cup competitions this month. There is a bonanza of action taking place across the county.

FA WNL Plate Cup

Having suffered defeat at the first attempt in the FA WNL League Cup, Maidenhead United now find themselves competing in the National League Plate competition. The Magpies will play on Sunday October 10th at 2pm against QPR from Division One South East.

  • Maidenhead United v Queens Park Rangers

Continental Cup

Reading will enter their first cup competition of the 2021/22 season when they play at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in the Continental Cup. The Royals have been drawn in Group D alongside Lewes, Crystal Palace and Bristol City, all Championship sides. The first fixture will take place on Wednesday 13th October, at 7:30pm.

Berks & Bucks Senior Cup

Having been curtailed due to the pandemic for the past two seasons, the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup makes its return this month with fixtures kicking off on Sunday 17th of October at 2pm.

  • Abingdon United FC Women v Abingdon Town Women
  • Wycombe Wanderers FC Women v Chesham United LFC 
  • Milton Keynes Dons SET Women v Tilehurst Panthers Women 

Ascot United LadiesMaidenhead United Women, Milton United Ladies, Reading FC Women and Woodley United Ladies have all received byes into the next round.

Berks and Bucks County Cup

The first Round of the Cup sees nine Berkshire sides in action. The teams will all play on Sunday 17th of October at 2pm.

  • Caversham United Women v Wraysbury Village Ladies
  • Mortimer Ladies v Thatcham & Newbury Town Ladies
  • Slough Town Ladies v S4K FC Berks County Ladies
  • Newbury Ladies Development v Wantage Town FC Women
  • Taplow United Ladies v Bletchley Shamrocks Women
  • Shinfield Rangers Women v Stanford-in-the-Vale Women

Vitality Women’s FA Cup

Caversham United, Ascot United and Maidenhead United are all set to play in the Third Round Qualifying of this year’s Vitality FA Cup. Fixtures will take place on Sunday 24th of October at 2pm.

  • Ascot United Ladies v Oxford City Women
  • Queens Park Rangers v Caversham United Women
  • Chesham United Ladies v Maidenhead United Women

TVCWF League Cup 2021/22

The Preliminary Round of the TVCWF League Cup was completed on 26th of September with Taplow knocking out Wargrave and Thatcham & Newbury suffering defeat at the hands of Goring United. Eight Berkshire outfits join the fray in the First Round of the competition which is set to take place on Sunday 31st of October at 2pm.

  • Eversley & California Women’s Reserves v Wycombe Wanderers FC Women Reserves

  • Tilehurst Panthers Women Development v Ascot United Ladies Reserves
