The Vanarama National League have issued fines to a number of its member clubs, including Slough Town.
The fines relate to a failure to fulfil fixtures during the 2020/21 season as uncertainty grew as to whether the campaign – which was ultimately cancelled in the North and South divisions – would be completed.
Slough have been hit with an £8,000 fine and suspended points deduction – £2,000 for each fixture unfulfilled.
In a statement posted on the Rebels website, the club said: “The club had offered a clear written explanation on each occasion and submitted a defence based on the financial circumstances surrounding the matches for the disciplinary hearing.
“We are dismayed with the decision and will be submitting an appeal to the Football Association at the earliest opportunity.”
In addition, National League Dover Athletic have been fined £40,000, had their record expunged and given a 12-point penalty for the 2021/22 season.
Both Kings Lynn Town and Southport were found guilty of Covid-19 protocol breaches.
