There is no doubt that players and fans alike will have everything crossed that the rain clouds of the last two weekends will be kept at bay as we go into Sunday’s fixtures. None other than Ascot United and Wycombe Wanderers as they face a mid-table scrap.

Just two points separate the pair with Wycombe racking up 13 points this season despite having only played 9 games, whilst Ascot sit just behind in 6th place with 11 points in 14. A confusing discrepancy at first, but easily understood when you see that Wycombe have had a cracking run in the Chairman’s Cup. They’ll find out who they will face in the semi-final after tomorrow’s fixture when New Milton Town take on Southampton Women’s Reserves.

Ascot saw themselves knocked out of this year’s League Cup when they came up against Moneyfields, a 2-0 loss just short of a month ago. Disappointing to say the least but the knock out could be considered a blessing in disguise as the team look to pick up all 12 points available to them as the season draws to a close.

Ahead of the game, Ascot manager, Darrel Evans had this to say, “With only four games left, we are looking to get as many points as possible to secure our Premier League status. We have a full squad available for tomorrow and are expecting a tough game against a very good, experienced team in Wycombe”.

Yellawomen captain and top goalscorer Hannah Evans will be looking to nab a 6th league goal to her name as they head into this fixture, whilst Tara Ashley Woods will be wanting to add to her 5 in 8 tally.

League form guide:

  • Ascot home form – 3 wins, 0 draws, 5 losses
  • Wycombe away form – 5 wins, 0 draw, 4 losses

Fixture details: Ascot United Racecourse Ground, Winkfield Road, SL5 7LJ. KO 2:30pm.
