The Berks & Bucks County FA have launched a new social media initiative called #BBFAStars and are currently taking nominations for club and league secretaries.

The awards have been created as part of a monthly volunteer recognition scheme and will see the County FA ask for nominations via twitter for different categories.

According to the County FA website, #BBFAStars is a volunteer engagement project to recognise the volunteers who keep grassroots football going in Berks & Bucks whilst using their inspirational examples and personal stories to raise awareness of the game and encourage new faces to get involved. The winner of each months category will have their story featured on our website and receive a £20 voucher of their choice from a range of popular suppliers, such as; Amazon, The Restaurant Choice, Next, Argos, etc.

Once the nomination period has closed each month, a panel will narrow it down to a shortlist of four for a public vote on twitter.

Want to nominate a club or league secretary? Follow the instructions on the tweet:

Over the next couple of months, the following categories will come up:

  • February: Welfare Officer
  • March: Footie Mum
  • April: Fixtures Secretary
  • May: Treasurer
  • June: Footie Dad
  • July: Chairperson
