BetVictor Southern League Division One South side Thatcham Town survived a half time scare in their Preliminary Round tie to beat Barnstaple Town 3-1 and reach the First Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy.

The draw, made on Monday afternoon means the Kingfishers are 90 minutes from equalling their best run in the competition.

On Saturday, a Callum Willmoth double and third from George Jeacock sent them through, though Berkshire neighbours Bracknell Town crashed out at Haywards Heath Town.
