The 2019/20 Buildbase FA Trophy kicks off on Saturday for Bracknell Town but Thatcham Town have a bye, but it is the Robins who face a little bit of pop star quality on Saturday.
That is because when Essex side Coggeshall Town roll up to Bracknell Town and Larges Lane on Saturday they could well have X-Factor runner up and singer song writer Olly Murs in tow.
Murs had been a player at the BetVictor Isthmian League North Division club and is currently listed as a director having become co-owner during the 2017/18 season when the Seed Growers won the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Premier Division.
The singer played for the side in 2016 to build up fitness for the SoccerAid match according to the East Anglian Daily Times.
At the time he said of his playing career that the he played wherever the club could fit him in. He said: “Me trying to score, that’s the problem.
“Obviously I’ll try my best but for me the most important thing is Coggeshall Town progressing. We’re in the Thurlow Nunn League at the moment… We’re four divisions away from South Conference which is an amazing achievement.”
It is of course not the first time a famous face from the music scene has ‘rocked’ up at the Lane, in the early 2000’s, So Solid Crew rapper Junior Harvey (MC Harvey) made an appearance for south coast side Lewes while we’re 99% certain former Royle Family star Ralf Little would have visited while playing for Staines Town.

Coggeshall have had a good start to the season after finishing fourth in 2018/29 – their first at step 4, they currently occupy that same position.
There is every chance that Murs might be in attendance at Larges Lane, according to the singers official website he has no tour dates currently lined up!
