‘A signing out of the blue’ – reaction to Carl Davies Binfield return

Davies says he is excited to be back involved with the Moles

Binfield manager Roger Herridge has called the addition of former Bracknell Town player/manager Carl Davies to his squad a ‘signing out of the blue’.

Davies was, along with the clubs new assistant manager Carl Withers part of the successful Moles side of the early 2010s having originally joined from Woodley United.

The Moles announced Davies return on Sunday evening with Herridge writing on twitter: “A signing out of the blue but a massive one for us . Not only a top footballer but a top man too. Leads by example on and off the pitch, his experience going to be invaluable.”

Davies himself added: “Excited for the new challenge ahead and great to be back involved with Binfield, Roger Herridge, Carl Withers, Bob Bacon and Rob Challis.”

There was also a tweet from Davies former club Bracknell where he played over four years as captain and then player / manager. The tweet said: “What a guy. Carl Davies has been an incredible part in our recent journey. Not only his football, his character, personality, humour he has it all. Great Captain and also Player Manager when called upon, we all wish you well.”
