A great season that ended in silverware for Ascot United has seen boss Jamie Tompkins nominated for an EPC Bracknell Football Award.

After a tough 2017/18 season that saw the club finish 14th in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division, United were transformed in 2018/19 as Tompkins stepped up from managing the clubs development team and were title contenders until the final weeks of the season.

As well as finishing seventh this season, Tompkins side were Floodlit Cup semi finalists and winners of the Hellenic League Challenge Cup.

The nomination sent to us for Tompkins reads: “Jamie has transformed a football club (Ascot United) from a team fighting relegation to challenging for promotion in his first season whilst trusting and providing opportunities for young players to reach their full potential. Jamie and the squad deservedly won the Hellenic League Challenge Cup in May, beating Windsor comfortably 3-1 in the final.”
