It’s an all Berkshire final in the Bluefin Sport Hellenic League Challenge Cup as Ascot United and Windsor won through their respective semi finals on Saturday.

The two sides will face each other on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May at Ardley United’s Nolan Oils Ground in Oxfordshire.

Ascot beat Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division rivals Wantage Town 1-0 at the Racecourse Ground to reach the final thanks to a goal from Kai Walters.

Windsor reached the final after beating Division One West side Almondsbury 3-0 in South Gloucestershire with goals from Rob Lazarczuk and a Dan Roberts double.

The move to hold the fixture in Oxfordshire has proved controversial with players and supporters of both sides facing a 100 mile round trip.

Last season’s final between Bracknell Town and Thatcham Town was held at Windsor’s Stag Meadow ground.

The Hellenic League has been contacted for comment.
