The Allied Counties Youth Football League have confirmed that East Division side Wembley have withdrawn from the league.

The Lions were bottom of a 10 team East Division that included Uxbridge, Holmer Green and Hanwell Town having played five matches without a win.

League secretary Alan King emailed clubs informing them of the West London sides withdrawal and confirmed adjustments would be made to the table.

Wembley’s youngsters had suffered several heavy defeats in the league including an 8-1 loss at Harefield United and a 9-1 defeat at North Greenford United. The clubs last two fixtures were postponed.

It’s the second withdrawal from the competition this season after North Division side Abingdon Town withdrew a few weeks ago while Abingdon United didn’t start the season leaving that table a little light on sides.

In the summer, ACYFL clubs voted to change the structure of the competition, abolishing the Premier Division and creating four regionalised divisions. Bracknell Town, Binfield and Ascot United are all in the Central Division.
