Wantage Town searching for new manager

Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Wantage Town have announced the departure of manager Ben Sadler.

The club posted news of their managers departure on social media following the Freds 3-1 win over Easington Sports in the Bluefin Sports Hellenic League Challenge Cup.

Wantage tweeted: “It is with regret that we are announcing that 1st team manager Ben Sadler has resigned with effect from today. Paul Braithwaite, coach of the 1st team has also decided to resign. They have both done an amazing job at the Club and we wish them well for the future.”

The Fred’s currently sit fourth in the Hellenic Premier Division having won seven, drawn one and lost one of the first nine league games.

Wantage are in the Second Round of the FA Vase after beating Codicote 7-1 and took Vanarana National League South side Hungerford Town to a replay in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Cup this season.

Sadler is the latest Hellenic League managerial change after Reading City’s co-manager Andy Findlay stepped down from his position at the Berkshire club.
