Bracknell Town’s Bostik League South Central Division 1 derby with Egham Town has been postponed.

The postponement is due to Egham’s continued involvement in the 2018/19 FA Cup following a 3-3 draw at home to Brightlingsea Regent, with the replay taking place on Tuesday night.

The change in fixtures mean Bracknell, who were without a game already on Saturday will have to wait until Saturday 6th October when Bedfont Sports visit Larges Lane.

The lack of competitive football on Tuesday night doesn’t mean it’s an evening devoid of interest for Bracknell fans.

Darrell Freeland posted in the Football in Bracknell WhatsApp group that several of the Robins top of the table rivals are facing each other:

  • Hayes & Yeading United vs Northwood – 6th v 8th
  • Marlow vs Uxbridge – 4th v 5th
  • Waltham Abbey vs Hanwell Town – 2nd v 7th

Robins vs Sarnies

The Robins and Sarnies had been due to renew acquaintances in league football for the first time since the 2004/05 Southern League Division 1 West season when Egham finished 22nd of 22 teams and Bracknell finished two places higher.

The two sides did meet competitively in the 2016/17 FA Cup Preliminary Round with the Sarnies winning 2-1 at the Runnymede Stadium.

Bracknell’s next fixtures as things stand are:

  • 6th September: Bracknell Town vs Bedfont Sports
  • 13th September: FA Trophy
  • 20th September: Uxbridge vs Bracknell Town
