The FA Cup.

Binfield were the lone Berkshire club in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round after Thatcham Town lost their Preliminary Round replay, but the Second Qualifying Round draw throws up some intriguing possible ties for the Moles.

Having beaten Buckland Athletic on Saturday courtesy of a double from Sean Moore and another from Eddie Lee, Binfield are in the hat and could come up against some very famous names when the draw is made at 1pm on Monday.

That’s because the Second Qualifying Round see’s the addition of the Vanarama National League North and South sides which include Berks clubs Slough Town and Hungerford Town while famous FA Cup side Woking and former Football League club Torquay United.

Depending on where the regional split for the draw is made, former football league clubs in the North of England entering the Second Qualifying Round include Kidderminster Harriers, Stockport County, Boston United and York City.

The Moles will be without defender Jeff Brown for the tie whoever they play following the centre backs sending off on Saturday, with all bookings and red cards now competition specific. The 2018/19 round dates are here and details on the round by round prize fund is here.
