If Bracknell Town moving in to the Bostik League and back to step 4 wasn’t exciting enough, the Robins have drawn a famous name in the Velocity Trophy Preliminary Round.

Carl Davies side have been drawn at home to Premier Division side Kingstonian in a tie to be played on Tuesday 21st August at 7.45pm.

For this Football in Bracknell writer and possibly anyone in or around their mid-thirties, Kingstonian defined the term ‘giantkilling’ in a football sense with an unbelievable record in the FA Cup between 1992 and 2001.

The K’s regularly dismissed Football League clubs from the competition during that period including Peterborough United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Brentford and Southend United as well as taking clubs like Leyton Orient and Bristol City to replays.

The full draw is on the Bostik League website here but Bracknell’s fixtures are:

  • Bracknell Town vs Kingstonian (Preliminary Round)
  • Bracknell Town OR Kingstonian v Haywards Heath OR Horsham (First Round)
