Mike Hancock appointed manager of Thames Valley League side

Ex Binfield defender Mike Hancock has been appointed as manager of Thames Valley Premier League side Mortimer.

Hancock spent a season with the Moles in 2011/12 but spent most of his recent career with the now defunct Reading Town as well as a brief spell in the Southern League with Bracknell Town.

Mortimer are 7th in the Thames Valley Premier League and Hancock steps in to the hot seat having played 10 games for the village side last season and five so far this time around.

The club announced they had parted company with manager Steve Melledew in mid-September and Hancock along with assistant Graham With have took caretaker charge guiding Mortimer to three wins which included an impressive cup victory over Wokingham & Emmbrook, two defeats and a draw.
