Former England and Watford legend Luther Blissett sent a tweet to youngster Jake Rafferty on Thursday following the Binfield right-back’s serious ankle injury sustained during the Allied Counties Youth League tie with Knaphill at Stubbs Lane.
Blissett – who earned 14 caps for England and played for the Hornets and AC Milan during a playing career that spanned nearly 20 years – tweeted Binfield first team manager Roger Herridge and included Rafferty’s twitter handle @jrafferty0 in the tweet.
@BinfieldACYouth hope your lad is ok Roger

‘Bliss’ – currently involved off the field at Hellenic Premier side Burnham – was one of many well wishers who have posted on social media.
