Binfield will face Henley Town in the Reading Senior Cup final at Reading Football Club’s Madejski Stadium this week after defeating Highmoor-IBIS 2-0 at Scours Lane on Saturday afternoon.
It will be a second successive visit for Roger Herridge’s Binfield side who are aiming to go one step further than last season and lift the trophy seen here with Wokingham & Emmbrook captain Grant Lewin in 2014.
The teams
Binfield have beaten reigning champions Wokingham and Highmoor-IBIS on the way to the final this year and have bounced back from a tough end of Hellenic Premier League season that saw them playing three times a week.
Henley Town finished third in Division 1 East and defeated Thames Valley Senior League Westwood United in the semi-final on Thursday night. The Red Kites have reportedly been promoted to the Premier Division for 2016/17.
