Binfield FC manager Roger Herridge spoke to FiB after his sides 2-0 win at Highmoor-IBIS on Saturday afternoon that sets up a Reading Senior Cup final showdown with Henley Town on Thursday evening.
Herridge was delighted to reach a second successive final and is determined to go one better after defeat by former club Wokingham & Emmbrook in the 2015 final.
“Delighted to have reached the Reading Senior Cup Final . There wasn’t an awful lot between the sides but I just felt we had that extra bit of
quality in the final third.
“The squad was stretched to the limits today with a number of players unavailable but everyone played there part in a hardworking performance.”

Herridge was keen to single out members of the clubs Fielden Cup winning side for special praise with 19-year-old Jamie McCarthy in particular top of the Binfield boss’s list.
“Jamie McCarthy made his full debut and was excellent with a man of the match performance. Another reserve team regular Callum Carlisle – 19, was exemplary at right back as was Reid Brown also 19.
“Lewis Leonetti and captain Alex Luis in a back four that never looked like being breached.
“We now look forward to the final at the Madejski Stadium on Thursday hoping to go one better than last season.

The Reading Senior Cup Final will take place at Reading Football Club’s Madejski Stadium on Thursday 19th May.
