With the Hellenic Division One East being wrapped up last Saturday all this weekend’s local Step 6 action is in the Combined Counties Division One and their fixtures of the season.
Sandhurst Town confirmed a top 6 finish last weekend with a win at Epsom & Ewell and could go one better should results go their way on Saturday. It will be a tough ask however, as the Fizzers will need to win away at 3rd placed Tooting Bec and hope that Bedfont & Feltham drop points in their match a Kensington Borough. Tooting are one of the form teams in the league having won their last 5 games, including a 1-0 win at home to Frimley Green on Tuesday that denied Frimley the title and promotion. Sandhurst are in good form too having lost just once in their last 9 league games, but they will have to be at their best to take 3 points this weekend.
Another side who will have one eye on the match between Kensington Borough and Bedfont & Feltham are Eversley & California. The Boars host Chessington & Hook in their final game of the season and are 3 points behind Kensington in the table with a better goal difference, so a win for Eversley coupled with a defeat for Kensington would see Matt Angell’s men climb to 15th in the table. Eversley have won their last two games and have not won 3 in a row in the league all season, but they face a Chessington side who have lost 4 of their last 5 so there is a chance for the Boars to finish in style.
