In the Combined Counties Division One Eversley & California play their first match under new manager Matt Angell as they host Tooting Bec at the ESA Ground.

Angell was appointed this week alongside new First Team Coach Ashley Cunningham and the pair have been handed a tough assignment for their first game in charge as Tooting currently sit 6th in the league and are undefeated in all competitions since October.

The Boars will be looking to end a run of three narrow defeats that have seen them slip to 14th in the table and welcome the new management in with a win.

In the Hellenic League Division One East Wokingham & Emmbrook welcome the leagues’s bottom side, Chinnor, to Larges Lane. The Sumas have been struggling for points in the league of late with just 3 taken from their last 5 outings.

Chinnor are in even worse form however, having lost 16 of their last 17 games in all competitions, a run that stretches back to early October. A win for Wokingham could see them climb to 8th in the table.

Wallingford Town are also at home for their league game against Didcot Town Development. Wally won their two games over the Christmas period and a win at the weekend could see them climb as high as 2nd in the league if other results go their way.

County Cup for Fizzers

At Bottom Meadow there is an interesting clash between two Step 6 sides from different leagues as Combined Counties’ Sandhurst Town entertain Hellenic League Division One East leaders Burnham in the Berks & Burks Senior Trophy.

The Fizzers are playing well and have won 4 out of their last 5 games, but they will need to be at their best as they face an imposing Burnham side who have only lost once in any competition since September.

The Blues sit 15 points clear at the top of the Hellenic Division One East, they average almost 4 goals a game, and after their last outing, an 11-0 drubbing of financially troubled Abingdon Town, they can boast 3 of the league’s top 4 goal scorers.

Sandhurst have goal threats of their own, most notably Charlie Oakley who grabbed his 12th of the season in his sides 2-0 win against Cove a week ago. The winners will progress to the semi-final of the competition.
