The first set of fixtures in the Second Round of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy take place over the weekend. Wokingham & Emmbrook travel to face Thames Valley Premier League side Wrightchoice & Unity CSA, who play at Cintra Park in Reading.
The hosts currently sit eleventh out of fourteen in their league and had a 4-1 win at Burghfield in the previous round. The Sumas are undefeated in their last five games in all competitions and will be hoping to continue that run with a win at Wrightchoice this weekend.
Wallingford Town have been drawn away to the current Bucks & Berks Senior Trophy holders Saxton Rovers. Saxton are based in Caldecott, Abingdon and are currently top of the North Berkshire Football League Division One. Wally will have to watch out for the attacking threat of forward Thomas Stanley who has six goals in four games.
Can the Fizzers keep out Maxwell?
In the Combined Counties League Division One, Sandhurst Town face a tough test on Saturday when they entertain Dorking Wanderers Reserves at Bottom Meadow. Dorking currently sit fourth in the table and boast one of the league’s top scorers, Maxwell Iyamu, who has ten goals in just seven games.
The Fizzers have just one defeat in their last six league games and boast a goal scorer of their own in Charlie Oakley who has five goals in his last four league matches.
Atom Men back to the top?
AFC Aldermaston have the chance to go back to the top of the league when they travel to Oxfordshire to face Chinnor.
The Atom Men are second in the Hellenic League Division One East on goal difference and with the top side, Thame Rangers, not playing this weekend they have an opportunity to steal a march on their rivals. Chinnor are currently second bottom in the table with four points from five games but have won two of their last three matches in all competitions.
In the only other Hellenic League Division One East game of the day, Holyport host Chalvey Sports at Summerleaze Village. Chalvey, nicknamed the Stabmonks, started strongly in their first season at this level with seven points in their first three games; however they have not won in the league since the end of August and currently sit fifth in the league with nine points from eight games.
Port will be hoping forwards Fabian Driffill and Jonny Feaver continue their fine form in front of goal. The pair have sixteen goals between them already this season.
