It’s been seven months in the making, but Binfield’s Hill Farm Lane is to be used for the first time since the completion of the impressive developments at the ground.

The visitors are Vanarama National League South side Hungerford Town, the Crusaders playing three divisions above the Moles and just two promotions from EFL League 2.

Binfield suffered a 3-0 defeat to Division 1 East Sandhurst Town on Tuesday night but Roger Herridge’s side will face a very different proposition when Bobby Wilkinson’s high-flyers head to the village.

Hungerford finished a very creditable 6th and could have snatched a play-off spot had ground grading rules not conspired to deny them and fifth placed Poole Town the opportunity – the Crusaders were a Hellenic Premier Division side just 8 seasons ago.

The match is of course ‘just a friendly’ but that doesn’t mean either side will not put on a show for supporters while the clubs new facilities including a refurbished club house and bar will be full open to the public.

Kick off at Hill Farm Lane is 7.45pm.
